Early 1969 Liberty in Munich, Germany, released another Searchers song from the Liberty sessions:  Shoot ‘Em Up, Baby b/w Suzanna (Liberty 15202). Again the A-Side was  written by Kenny Young and sung by Mike Pender with a little help from Frank.

The other side is John McNally's Suzanna, also sung by Mike. For me a very good song with a special sensitive vocal. This one came out in the UK in later in 1969 as B-side of Kinky Kathy Abernathy.

According to the Searchers the differences between them and Liberty about Shoot ‘Em Up, Baby caused the end of their contract with that record company. There are two different versions of the song. First the (German only) common single release and second a longer version with an added part in the middle. The Searchers wanted to release the longer version, Liberty insisted to use the shorter one - and won. The extended version remained unheard until 1971 when Liberty UK and Germany released the following lp:

Five Long Years Liberty SLS 50230 Z

Like on all the other Liberty recordings it not quite clear if the Searchers played themselves.
